Description
A simple corona motor. Ideal to use with the Cockcroft Walton Multiplier, or Van de Graaff kits.
This high voltage Corona Motor motor is composed of 6 slanted electrodes and a PVC rotor, there is no magnets, coils, wires or metal (other than the electrodes) in this motor. Something that will surprise students with previous magnetic based motor experience.
Containing 6 slanted electrodes (3 +ve, 3 -ve) colour coded red and either Green or Blue for ease of identification. A 43mm PVC rotor, 2mm motor Shaft and all acrylic construction.
The Clear acrylic parts of this build allow for students to see into the motor. Proving that there is no wire, coils or magnets used.
The 2mm Shaft can be easily attached to other mechanical items to put the motors power to use.
Runs from any DC “static” electricity supply from 20Kv to 50Kv
Note: The Corona Motor kit does require a small amount of common contact adhesive (not supplied)
